WHERE CAN I BUY A HOBBY?

We were talking about employment options the other day when someone brought up the issue of CVs. That made me think about how my CV looks like. Or how it would look like if I actually sat down and conjured one. It would not go past one page, unless I tripled the font and included illustrations. I have nothing to write on my CV past primary and high school education. I bet I could fit my whole CV in one tweet.
I was asked what I would put on the hobbies section and I answered that I would not put a hobbies  section. Because I have none. I asked everyone in the room what their hobby was. And before Kip could answer, I told them watching porn did not count. He swallowed what he was going to say. Then said his hobby was driving. I asked him when the last time he drove a car was. Like two years ago. Someone else asked him whether he had a driving license. No. He clearly was confusing a hobby and a fantasy.

A hobby, according to what I think, is something that I love doing even if it costs me money. Something I do regularly. A habit. And not a destructive one at that. I am guessing now you see why watching porn is not a hobby. Making it [porn] however classifies as a hobby in my books. Facebooking and Twittering  is also not a hobby. Not in my books. I need to find an activity that my books will call a hobby. Not for the sake of  increasing my CV by 5 words but for the sake of actually having a reason to live. Most likely I will end up with a deadbeat job that makes me want to jump off a desk and I may need a hobby to keep me from doing that. Maybe that is why I am always so negative. I need to be more positive towards life. I need to be so optimistic that the opposite of positive, to me, will be antiposivite. No more negativity in my life.So I need a hobby.
But where the hell do I buy one? I have been to Nakumatt Supermarket countless times and I have never seen an aisle marked Hobbies, Fantasies and Interests. Maybe I was not looking hard enough. I’ll go check tomorrow.
But in all seriousness. How can I find a hobby?  I am not good at many things. That is for sure. I do not want to love something I am not good at. That is why sports and athletics can never be a hobby. Yes I am over six foot tall but that does not automatically make me good at basketball. It does not even give me an edge over anything. Everyone is freaky tall these days.
I used to love drawing as a kid. Got myself into thinking I am good at it. But I never have the psyche to draw these days. Its like it was a childhood phase. I need to rekindle that fire. My hobbies should be things that do not make me run out of breath or expose me too much to the outdoors. I need a hobby in my comfort zone…Wow, if I restrict myself to that, the only hobby I can think of is knitting. Crap.
So I am starting a Find-A-Hobby Mission to find out what I actually love doing and stick to it. I am expanding my options and saying that I will stick to it even if I suck at it or it takes me out of my comfort zone. But until I find a hobby I am content in filling in the cliché ones: reading novels, travelling , watching documentaries and meeting new people.
What is your hobby, I’d like to know. ( I Promise not to steal yours)
